Thread: Oconee Nov 24 2012 RST

Last of the qualifiers for the Classic Swap Up Challenge was held this past Saturday at Lake Oconee out of Sav-A-Lot BP. The winds kept some folks on the hill, but some of the toughest anglers launched and found good fish in some sheltered areas. Another good reason to have more than one spot picked out to fish on any given day. Most of the anglers fished one particular area that I will leave for them to tell, if they want to. Water temps were in the upper 50's and water levels have continued to stay lower than normal. A fair stain above Lick Creek but below was mostly clear. Plenty of bait fish on the surface and down deep from 1/2 way into the coves and all over the main lake ledges. The fish are on the move as most of the fish caught earlier in the week and prior weekend were not holding on the same structure by Saturday. Brush piles are continuing to hold good fish, but not every day.

Good to see some familiar faces again with 9 more anglers qualified for the Classic Swap Up Challenge. The total anglers qualified for the Classic is now up to 89 which is 40+ boats that could fish the Classic. Raffle ticket sales are needing to be finished soon. Please contact me or Jamie about getting your tickets to sell. It is up to the anglers just how much this Classic can be. We are expecting each member to sell tickets or purchase tickets. The tickets are for sale to the public, and can be purchased from any Slab Masters member or contact Jamie or myself to get your tickets. The drawing will be held on Day Two at the weigh-in by the Day One team leaders. $1,000 is up for grabs, get you some!
