Cool Results for Lake Talquin 12/4/2010

Here are the results while I get the website updated:

A very big Thank You to our hosts Lake Talquin Lodge and to all the anglers. Cold fronts during the week before and coming in Saturday night made the fishing a little harder than normal. The water was a normal dark color but clear with temps ranging in the low 50's and the sun was shining bright. The winds stayed steady a little after sunrise and got up to around 15 mph which makes those Talquin stumps a little harder to see in those waves! The anglers worked hard finding 7 big ones to weigh. Most long line trolled slow and DEEP and I am sure those Lightwire Hooks paid off. The lower end of the lake was a popular area, but there were good fish caught mid lake. Jigs tipped with minnows or Crappie Nibbles helped convince some of the larger ones to grab the hook. An assortment of colors worked but Popsicle, Blue Ice, Bubblegum/chartreuse, Purple Shad, Electric Chicken, and Kentucky Lake Killer were mentioned several times.
    1. 10.96 lbs J. Little / B. Williams
    2. 10.90 lbs R. Cape / R. Harris
    3. 10.61 lbs R. Huff / R. Huff
    4. 10.32 lbs R. Willis / T. Thiel
    5. 9.93 lbs R. Fry / J. Fry
Big Fish (crappie) was 2.37 lbs by R. Cape / R. Harris

We also want to thank the Cantrell family for coming down and enjoying what Mr. Charlie loved to do. We appreciate everyone that came out to "Charlie's Island" on Saturday evening after the tournament.

Wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a "Crappie" New Year and hope Santa brings everyone some new toys to bring to the Eufaula tournament on Jan. 8, 2011.

Kent. lake killer has a red body with a chart. tail. and I believe the tail has some red flakes of glitter in it...........with that many colors listed, sounds like any color pretty much worked if you had the right depth and presentation.
