    Thanks for the welcomes. Ive been lurking and reading the forum for about a month until I finally decided to register.

    I fished with my dad all over Ga growing up. Mostly for bass. When he got older, he started chsing crappie and I was able to go along with him quite a few times. Clarks Hill, Jackson, Juliette, West Point, Oconee are the ones I remember the best. I guess that rubbed off on me and now that I'm "older" I have the itch as well. Only a 14' jon boat right now but close access to the county drinking reservoir that seems to be loaded with fish. It's probably about 1200 acres and up to 40' deep in places with lots of timber from when they flooded the area. My best day yet has been 7 crappie with the smallest being about 10" and the largest 14" I've caught them all on crankbaits (Pico and Bandit 300) and nothing on long lining jigs. My electronics are just an inexpensive Lowrance Hook2 x4 that doesn't give a lot of detail.

    There seems to be a ton of good information on here and some very experienced crappie fisherman. I look forward to learning something from each of you and maybe I can contribute a little along the way. Thanks for having me! Dave
