Thread: Newbie in Missouri

First, thanks for the forum. I am a retired Arizona State Trooper. Moved to Missouri in 2000 after retirement because we fell in love with north central Missouri and all it's small lakes and ponds. I was introduced to fishing by my Grandma Singer who took me fishing when we lived in Michigan when I was little before moving to Arizona when I was 7. Now I want to pass it along to our grandchildren who live here in Missouri. I just found what I thought was a great deal on a Bass Hound 10.2 boat with a trailer and 5hp Mercury four stroke outboard. Got to do a little work on it as the seats are frozen and will not swivel, check out the aerator and probably glue some boat decking carpet on the floor and critical locations then take it out and give it a run. I want to also get an electric trolling motor for the front. I have done a lot of bass fishing but no crappie fishing. When is the best time for that or water temperature when the bite is on?
