    Default Echo Base

Echo is discontinuing this model, so you can pick up the rod or the combo at bargain prices:

I do not own the Base, but I have heard nothing but good about it. If you've always wanted to try fly fishing, a Base outfit would be a good way to start.

It is odd that the description of the kit does not say what weight the rod is...

Not that I need any rods. I had a lot of rods, and when my brother passed I ended up with an obscene amount of rods.
    I now have every size from a 1wt to a 10wt, with multiple 5wts.
My favorite is a two piece 3wt 9' that he made me some years ago.
And I gave away to a nephew an 11wt and a 12wt. He likes to fish salt water.

It's a 9' 5wt. You have to click on the "model" drop down box.
