    Default My first fly rod!

For fathers day my wife wanted to get me something fiahing related that I didn't have anything like. I've mentioned I always wanted to try fly fishing, well now I can!!

I got a Pflueger 8ft starter kit. Not high end by any means but was told by am experienced fly fisherman that it is good to learn on and see if I want to continue fly fishing.

So I'm excited to tie on a fly and start learning!!

    Congrats!

To get you started in casting, here's an excellent video:

Nice, I've got an older Pflueger 5wt that I really like.

There's definitely no need to buy a high end rod -unless your a high end caster, and even then not really needed I'm sure.

Some of the RIO products "how to" youtube vids have some good info. I watched a bunch lately to work on my roll casts.
