you should look into the eagle claw featherweight series.the rods are around 30 dollars and fish real well.i have some pretty expensive, for me anyway, rods.both glass and graphite.the eagle claws cast just as well in my opinion.
Yeah that's what I was looking at was the reviews. only had two bad reviews out of 87 I think. This will be my next rod and reel combo. I have a 9' 6wt hobbs creek with a auto reel on it but I want to go back to a manual reel and get me a lighter weight rod should be fun with them Altamaha river bluegill.

Redington Crosswater is a killer combo for the money. I've used one exclusively for a long while now. Check it out.

I have seen one problem with inexpensive fly rod- outfits offered from the box stores. One of the reason the price is right is they use whatever is left over from companys making banks grips guides and such. If you get one that has fairly good quality material great. However if you get one with poor chromed guides you just got taken. These guides will cut and or wear your line in no time. Next thing is you go buy a new line. More then likely a $50.00 plus investment. A few fishing trips later you have a second line that is shot. So you have 2 junk lines a cheap rod that needs new guides and a very cheap real for your $175,00 investment. I have been in the flyfishing business for over 40 years and have seen happen this too many times. Buy a out fit that has a guarantee and be happy from the get go. Also go to a shop and cast the rod. It is a personal decision and only by casting it with the flys you intend to use well you know what is right for you.
