    Default River Slab

Dad was fishing his dock in Astor this morning and caught a SLAB! 2lb 13oz, 16 inches and released to spawn. Also caught a 2lb 4oz and 1lb 7oz and a few more keepers. We fished the river and Dexter some this week and did ok. One morning we kept 16 but probably threw back 30 smalls.

Short video of the weight and release.

Bigger than my PB. Very nice fish, and thanks for the release. I believe that big fish have better genetics and produce bigger fish. That’s an argument for another thread though. Hope it stays hot for y’all.

Fish are biting today! We were eating breakfast and Gail said "you wanna go for a troll?" Sure! River Slab
Didn't put lines out until 11:22 but it didn't seem to matter. Trolled the river.
Mom and Dad stopped by on the way back from Woodruff and had 21.
Our biggest was right at 2 pounds and we had 13 keepers and plenty of dinks to keep us busy.

Another day another SLAB for my girl Gail! This one weighed in at 2lb 9oz and was released like the other 2 pounders. We had another 10 keepers and plenty of dinks again. Longlining the river.

Dad and me fished Woodruff this morning. Kept 25 with quite a few throw backs. All packed up and flying back to Indiana in the morning. River Slab
