Default FWC Meeting- Orange Lake Area Spray..

I just heard about this.. On April 25th 2023 there will be another Public meeting with the FWC. The location will be at "Sun Retreats" Rec Hall 18545 NW 45th Ave Citra, Florida 32113. This place was called "Grand Lake RV and Golf Resort" just east of HWY 441 on HWY 318,
They will talk about what they are going to do at Orange Lake, Locloosa and other surrounding lakes.. spraying/killing of plants and grasses will be discussed. The spray used in Florida comes from China and is Banned for use in China...last year it seemed like most citizens at the meeting wanted the state to use mechanical harvesting to remove the plants from the water ways. When they poison the lakes with the spray the plants die and rot on the bottom of the lake... the plants rot, use oxygen and leave muck on the bottom.. the rotting plants release nutrients including nitrogen and phosphorus that feed algae blooms.. Come to this meeting if you can, listen and learn.. please remain calm and state your opinion if you want to..

Just a few miles to the west of Vero Beach is a massive area known as the Fort Drum Marsh.
Some of the area is accessible, but most of it is not.
That area drains into places like Lake Garcia, and Blue Cypress, and also provides water for the beginnings of the Saint Johns River.
There are some small lakes within that area as well, one of which is accessible, especially for Kayaks and small boats.
Since October, they have sprayed there 3 times.
A few weeks back there were 2 helicopters spraying that area for several consecutive days.
There was a large tank truck parked there that the helicopters landed right on top of in order to refill their spray tanks before making another run. On average they would be back for more about every 20 minits or so.
They claimed they were spraying vegetation growing on the dry land which poses a danger to the Cypress trees.
But there is so much marsh land and canals and such thru out the area that i dont think it possible for those areas to not be sprayed as well.
Ive talked to a few of the airboat operators doing the spraying, and they deny that the spraying affects the water quality.

In our area a year or so ago over lake Apopka the 2 helicopters crashed and not into each other . Isn't that wild ?
