Well, here goes = Crappie, Croppie, Sac-a-lait, Socket eye, Chinkapin, White perch...and...oh, what was that one name?...man, it's been a while...oh yeah, that's it!! =

The sunrise kick-off time was preceded by heavy fog conditions for my lengthy 1 hr. 45 min. drive time(on a good day). The motoring speed was eerily slow on the water, with many w/o gps capabilities running in wide circles.The conditions didn't noticably improve until about an hour after sunrise. Luckily, Mom Nature's WIND-SPEED was non-existent the whole time. Today's overall fish bite-activity was very good.
Did more l/l'g
than single-pole casting thus covering more territory. Good numbers with some Studs in the bunch
Had a couple sizable Gar, one nice 3 # Channel cat, and then the 16' "alarm' sounds and what in the world is this? Tremendous fun on the long stick to yield a sizable ANGRY Bowfin/Mudfish/Mudder-in-law fish
Fortunately, my next net usage came just after seeing the water temp. at a Scorching 75*!! Been having record breaking hot temps. here.

Just to illustrate how bad the conditions were = I saw Pontoon Pappy's Truck/trailer parked on the lot so I gave him a call. He wanted to know WHO is this? He was out there, with a guest, doing the "long" tour = he didn't have the FOGGIEST idea who I was!!

He also did well l/l'g and only had a short-trip planned "off the water" by 10:30.

How's good old Pontoon Pappy doing. Good to hear that he's on the waters. Question Doug, I never drink on the water, but I'm kinda curious as to whether it's allowed here in Florida. I would never want to encourage anyone to drink and boat. I know some states, like MS you can't even have it on the boat. And Other states like IL it's encouraged (I say in jest).

You are allowed to have alcohol aboard your boat. FWC strongly encourages that you select a sober captain before leaving the dock, much like a designated driver with cars. You may be given a breath test if suspected of being drunk. 0.08 bac gets you arrested for boating under the influence. A charge similar in penalties to operating a car. Most boat ramps are public places and can have ordinances prohibiting alcohol possession.
Anyone caught with Coors Light in their coolers should be shot on sight.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Good morning Slab- Just now readin' your response to my posting. I've been a little busy Fishin'/Catchin'(that's a good thing)/and Posting helpful(hopefully) accounts WITH pics!I wish you had chosen to GOOGLE your alcohol concerns for on the water Florida alcohol law on the water. Just like On Land a human has a written/unwritten guideline/law to act responsibly. Unfortunately misinformation can/does run rampant within social media venues. Law enforcement officers, FWC, are trained to conduct field-sobriety whenever viable "probable cause" is suspect. Alcohol IS NOT PROHIBITED on Florida's Waterways!!
All Florida State regulations prevail(age etc.)
Forgot to mention some other fish "tags" = Speckled Perch(Specks)...not to be confused with Saltwater Specks(Speckled Trout). And for the folks that may know...it's Speckled not Speckeld.How does one spell contents??
