Great read on a long-awaited return Tim! Good job on connecting with the fish, muffin and fileting tutelage/giveaway!
And just a couple of days left in the year so today was the day. Go ahead and scold me now cuz I didn’t take any pics. On the water about 8 and found it flat calm, cool, and sunny. The bite started slow and never really got wound up but it did stay pretty steady. I took home 10 which all got given to friends. I have a new neighbor across the street that had spoken interest in some fish and had no idea what a crappie was. She does now. Not only did she get the fish but got a hands on lesson on filleting said fish. She made me proud and showed me that I was a terrible teacher. She did a fine job and carried her fillets home with a smile. I came away with a smile, being able to pass on something that ain’t easy to learn on you tube. Total was about 16 or so, some of those were small keepers that just weren’t grown enough. I met Slimjim at the ramp and we stayed kinda close and in touch all day. We wrapped up about the same time and trailered our boats, parting in the parking lot after wrapping things tight and ready to travel. I hadn’t eaten anything but one of Paula’s famous muffins and it was after 12 so I was ready to eat the north end of a southbound skunk by the time the filleting lesson was done. Final thoughts left me with a large smile after months of recovery and regaining strength and a day we’ll spent in good company. It’ll take me a few minutes extra to say my prayers tonite, I have a lot to be thankful for. God Bless everyone, and have a great new year.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
