Closed? wow. I have been there when there was a no wake that went way down river because of very high water, but it was not closed. Interesting.

Looks like water has been dropping slow but steady , I'm sure that when Valusia County opens the ramps back up it will be posted here . According to water data web site at Astor a bit ago 2.58 only .58 from operating pool . If I had to guess I'd say couple weeks

I can tell you that I just got a pic from a friend in Astor at the bridge! It shows that the water level from back in July to now, it is still up about 2 feet or so! This is a great sign. They told me they are catching fish on Woodruff! He said they are catching their limits every day and culling fish! Good to hear!

Don’t want to ruffle any feathers here but there is NO reason these ramps can’t be opened. Been fishing here decades and water levels similar or higher . Must be some government $$ for lost revenue for Volusia County.My opinion.

I can only respond to what’s happening in Volusia and Seminole counties. North of Deland I don’t know about.
A lot of the ramps are damaged and having repairs being done. These are typically the floating ramps.
The other ramps I’ve seen that have stationary docks, the docks have just started to be above water in the past couple of weeks.
I live on the St. John’s so I see things first hand. Our community docks are now about 6-8” above water but parts of the docks are damaged and cannot be walked on. The water still has another 2’ to recede to be “normal “ again. Our handrail was under water and it is 42” above the dock surface.
The flooding from these hurricanes was unprecedented. Neighbors that have been here for 30 plus years have never seen the water as high as it was. To say this was similar to normal flooding or high water is an incorrect statement. This was far from normal. I’ve seen normal flooding and this was way above normal.
The river and lake Monroe is still all idle zone. This was put into affect to protect the homes on the river. A lot of those home, the water was up to the doors or more. Any wake would have resulted in homes being flooded. That was why the river was closed and why it still remains an idle zone.
Back when this all happened, all of us said it would be mid to late December before water levels receded enough. Some even said January. Looks like we were right.
