    Default Bites…

I have not fished since I was on the water with Buckeyecrappie and billbob in Kentucky. That’s probably the longest time of not fishing since I moved to Florida. Did not catch any crappie my usual way of medium lining (kinda like longlining but with shorter line out so my double rigs can be more readily be seen on the livescope).

Finally caught some casting deeper water (10-12 ft) and closer to shore. But the problem was, I got twice as many yellow fly bites than crappie bites! And yellow fly bites hurt!

So gave up real quick. But at least it’s a start, or should I say restart!

Yep, the pup got a little excited too as you can tell by the scales. Dang he’s quick!

Does that Tea Tree Oil work for those fly bites?

Yes it does. But now I’ve learned antiperspirant works too. It takes out the moisture or something like that. But it does works. I have to wonder if antiperspirant works on chiggers. Someone should try it and let us know.

I live in a swampy area that is a breeding ground for those yellow flies. Yesterday one of our neighbors smelled like vicks vapor rub and I asked if she was sick. She said she was sick of yellow fly bites and the flies can't stand the smell of vicks.
Not sure I want to try the vicks just yet! I am always working on boat engines and trailers and I guess I smell like grease. The little buggers don't seem to land on me. I used this excuse yesterday when I did not shower before dinner. As you might guess I won't be trying that again. Tight Lines.
