    Default Now I Ask You

How is it that a man is supposed to stay at home when this awaits him?Name: 3A2F4255-16C9-41A9-B2F9-D6C6F57B3A6B.jpg

A balmy 41* when I was almost at the ramp had me in my bibs and layers and gloves. As expected things started slow and I didn’t load up like Speck Detector did but it was a beautiful, quiet morning. Picked up these two just as the fog began to burn off and I never felt this first crappie, the line just got heavy.

It wasn’t too far from the first fish to this fourth one, the first was a six inch Gill that I didn’t get a pic of. This fourth one was the pretty one of the day, I just love their colors.

The girls stopped by to say hello and stayed for about 10 minutes or so until I got close and the whip sound of the rod made them move off. But they didn’t go fast or far, maybe 75’ and they went back to feeding.

Things got a little slow so I fired up the outboard and moved a bit and found some more, even some green ones.

All total was about 15 fish of mixed variety, maybe a couple more. 6 crappie, 3 LMB and six or seven gills and redbreast mixed. Had on a real good sumthin that gave me what for and said goodbye before I got to see him. A solid 20 seconds of excitement and then he was gone. Everything was caught on my 2lb rigs again today so the fun was a couple of notches higher. Also saw the snail hawk for the first time in months today. Got serenaded by owls long into the morning and the squirrels always make me laugh when a branch breaks out from under them and they start barking up a storm like someone did something to them on purpose. In just after 7 and pulled about 11 and all the players got a pass for another day. Thanks for coming along, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Hope to see you soon, til then…….Skeet.

Dan, glad to hear the rod worked for you. I’m always apprehensive about buying without feeling or having some background first. I rolled the dice on two combos about three years ago and hit a home run, love em both. I’d go again tomorrow morning but wind is forecast between 12 and 22 mph so me and my flat bottoms will be at the house, thank you. Where are you fishing in Chattanooga? I never got to fish there while I lived in a Manchester, Dale Hollow either. Kickin myself now but I had one excellent trips on the three around town.

I really didn’t have to have a new combo but, well ya know how it is lol. After reading about bnm here I thought if I was to get a new outfit that would be the one to go with. I don’t t need the expensive stuff but something good is a plus. I fish the Chick mostly between Dallas bay and Soddy. Lots of bad weather here in forecast for tomorrow so I will be keeping it indoors. Not as tough as I use to be lol. I have not fished anywhere in middle or west TN. Just a local guy anyway r
theses days. Any wind 10 and up keeps me parked. Trying to stay close to a spot takes away from the fun of fishing for me. Anyway, good luck the next time you head out.

The inset of the fog senses a mystery to unfold & the mixed bag confirms just that, wtg Tim...
