    Default Picked up Skeetbum

I picked up skeetbum and headed for the lake on one of my rare weekend outings. We were off to a late start, but it was a nice morning , too nice not to go.

We made it out into the lake and took a look around to see what was going on. We saw some boats at the far end of the lake, and with the wind coming from that direction, we headed over into the area.

Skeetbun had said that he wanted to see my new set up, so we were on my boat. We got to our spot and turned the boat to work with the wind. I showed him how I set out my rods and away we went.

We were about half way through setting out the rods when Skeet told me that he needed the net. ( I didn't even have any of my rods in the water yet.). First fish in the boat and it was a nice fish.

So back to setting out the rods again. ( my set up takes a little bit of effort to set up ) and what does Skeet do ? He asks for the net again ! Fish #2 in the box. His next fish is a throw back, and I still don't have my rods in the water yet.

He finally slows down ( we drifted out of the area ) and we finish setting the rest of the rods out. We turn the boat and head back over the area again and pick up a few more fish. We had a lot of small throw backs this pass. We get to the end and start all over again. Skeet even got a small striper that took out three rods while playing with him.

The day started cool and windy but the wind died down and the sun came out and warmed us up. But as with all good things it was time for us to head in. The bite had slowed down and the wind was starting to pick up again.

By the end of the short morning , we had 8 keepers in the bucket.

Thanks for the invitation Jim, I had fun and learned something new too. Couldn’t beat the temps and wind either. About 9 the wind laid down to perfect ripple for trolling. We’ll go again soon, but I’ve got a salty itch to scratch soon. Paulas muffins alone are worth going, tell her I said thanks.

I enjoyed having you on board. I often think that Paula's muffins are the main reason some people go out with me . lol
