It is a party . A bunch of fishing friends and their family get together to meet each other and have a good time. It is a pot luck type of affair. everybody brings something. We have a fish fry ( crappies ) and a fishing contest. ( biggest fish ) because we have it at the park by the river/ lake people get to fish in the morning, then come in around noon for the food. A big crappie is called "a slab" hence the name, slabfest. Hope you can come.
