Default Your thoughts on chartplotter mapping for Florida

Lookin' to get a new ride, and am at a loss on which brand of chartplotter to get. I know there are lots of opinions on the pluses and minuses of the different brands when it comes down to down-imaging, side-scan, etc. But, I would like to know which brand (Humminbird, Lowrance, Garmin) has the best mapping for here in Florida.
    Thanks

I've been running the Humminbird Helix for about 5 years. I am very satisfied with the down and side imaging. You can purchase the Humminbird lakemaster SD card for all the Florida lakes and rivers for mapping. If you are going to use side imaging get at least an Helix 9( 9 inch screen). Anything smaller and it is hard to read side imaging.

I agree with the size statement. I’ve had older models like 798 and have an 898 and still not big enough to see when you’re looking for an internal update when you just give it a quick glance.

Hummingbird links to Minnkota, Lowrance links to Motorguide and Lowrance Ghost, and Garmin links to Garmin Force. Not sure about any of the other myriads of networking. I put a Lowrance Hook Reveal Tripleshot on the little boat I bought last fall and run the Navionics card in it. Really like the unit, very user friendly. Have a Raymarine unit on my Pontoon and the real3d is great for mapping out ledges, rocks and such as you can spin the image in all different directions in real time.
