    Default something different

We got to do something a little different this past week. We headed down to the salt for some evening (?) h2o time. The evening turned into an all nighter, getting home at 6am. (Not an easy thing to do for this old man). But it was worth it!

I made three trips to the coast, two with Les and one with My Lady (Paula). The trip with Paula was a shorter stay than the others because it was her first trip out in quite awhile. But she did good. She even took up the cleaning station after each trip.

The three trips netted us a 3 gal pull, a 4 gal pull and Paula and I got a 2 gal pull.

We even had a strange looking one show up in the bucket.

Do you think that these would make good crappie bait ??

Now it's time to get back to normal fishing hours and just get up early instead of getting home early.

Until next time, tight line and full nets

    see you on the water

    Jim

another good day at the office !

Mantas shrimp for sure. They will give you a nasty “bite” if you let them.

I’ve seen them that were pretty good size and wondered about the bite factor. Glad I didn’t fool with it. Strange looking.

Shrimping's reward is great but it sure is hard on the body. I started shrimping when I was a young man and would be able to fill my freezer and some of my neighbors freezers. But the years tend to alter your plans. I plan on getting a boat I can sleep comfortably on with a head. This will allow me to miss the launch ramp boat loading freenzy after a long night of shrimping. The skeeters and no see-ums can eat you alive if you are not prepared.
