You’ve become a resourceful one when things don’t work as planned here lately. Very good job!! I picked up a few yesterday and just decompressed and hid from the wind. Worked on the Jon’s lights today and got a lot done. Brother is in town next weekend , we may go lookin in your neighborhood. It’ll be on Friday too, if you’re going.

When you look @ the pic with all fish laid out you'll notice the 5 or 6 lighter colored ones=females, it's a weird yr for the spawn, think they are going to lay eggs little by little over the next couple months, have not seen the traditional males busting the banks eating fry @ Jesup or they've changed locations in spawning....

Have the pleasure to fish with a legend in Polk Co. Friday, if the weather holds, but will help with what I've stumbled upon to hopefully put your brother on a good bite. Saturday will work, once again, if the weather holds. Don't over look Woody, especially the Norris Dead leading out, that I know is the type of fishing you prefer & certainly know how to pick apart, the biggest fish can be found there....

Should be the last question Was this 5 x 5 foot area proximate to the 10 x 10 foot spawning area you found last year? Just wondering if you keyed in on this spot because of past results-

No sooner than I'm ready to travel to my destination, Lake Jesup, the wind starts to pick-up, so I leave the trolling poles & take (2) jigging poles & (2) float/jig poles. Start out with the jig under float approach w/NO takers the 1st couple hrs. Then suddenly, I remember a video from BlueGabe (Youtube) fishing the "Maiden Cane" @ the big "O" & decided to pull from that knowledge & hit the cane, out of the wind...Pulled out the Zebco 8ft. "Crappie Fighter" & start vertical jigging less than 2ft of water. Don't take long & the 1st fish is boated. Turns out this pole & presentation is all the resources I would need the rest of the afternoon...Found 1 area that held a limit, in a 5ft by 5ft. section, no monsters today, just healthy 12" fryers...also only needed a 1/32 jig dressed w/ Bobby Garland ice-blue minnow, in pic below, w/non-stop action from 11am-3pm, also a pic of the "noddle action" the Zebco rod had, lit' hard to see w/yellow tip, but held up to the abuse setting hook & pulling fish out of the Cane, economical set-up to prove you don't need all that fancy stuff, just reliable stuff...hope your lines are tight your next trip...
I really like reading a report like this New Technique...
