Way too many “Y” bones and too little meat if you cut them out for my taste.

I caught one at petrosky? on other side of villages and cleaned him like a pike and meat was excellent and avoided the bones. good to see the family fishing off the bank and ketchn especially Mom. that was a bruiser BG for sure.

Oh sure, but they generally don't get big enough to get real meaty and they're kind of a bugger to fillet (if you prefer fillet cut) which I would recommend in the case of any pike species. But they do taste very good indeed. Catching one of legal size would answer your question because it just might not fit your personal pallet. If you like it, you'll need 2-3 to get good portions for a two person meal (depending on the size of the catch)
