Default it was warmer, kind of....

It was warmer, by a few degrees, but I dressed better and I left a little later in the morning. In fact I got one of the last parking spots left in the parking lot. I launched and could see the fleet just off shore. I pointed the bow in that direction and moved into position. I set the rods out and started to make my first pass. It didn't take long when the first rod bent. The first keeper is in the box.

I always try to set at least one rod out with something new or different on it just to see what happens. The first fish hit on that odd rod. It was on a larger body twister tail in orange and white. The darker colors had been working for me lately so this was a bit different . I put it back out.

The next fish was one one of my darker colors, but it was under size so it goes back. Then the test rod goes off again and I boat another keeper. I pull in one of the other rods and change it over to the orange and white.

The morning moves on and there is light action with no real pattern that I could see. That second rod with the orange and white does not bend at all.

The sun is starting to climb in the sky and it's time for me to head in. I look in the box and I have 4 nice keepers. I have let a lot go back to grow up so it was a fun morning.

Nice idea trying something different each time out Jim...when things are tuff, you can pull out of that "remember when" bag & make dinner happen...

Glad it paid off in a good dinner, maybe a little better than your usual 3 per meal. In and out and back in time to do other stuff. Good Deal!

Thanks for sharing your adventure. Nothing like a morning out on the lake and the bonus of a fresh fish dinner.
