    I use 6 # test on my rods. But a lot depends on your set up and the size of the jigs that you are using.

    I use 4 now, but have caught fish with 6 too.

    I use 10 lb. hi vis yellow and no leader

    4 lb hi vis yellow Crappie Maxx line for long linning. 10 lb braid with 6 lb flourocarbon leader for spider rigging.

    used to think 4# hi viz was best but been using 6# hi viz catching same amount of fish plus can pull jigs loose easier w/o breaking off so thinking about swithching all rods to 6#. This is strictly casting 1/32-1/16 oz jigs.

    For lakes with structure, I use 6# Hi Viz for long lining. Lakes with little to no structure i like the 4# Hi Viz. I probably long line 95% of the time.

    I spider rig with 15lb hi viz braid with 8lb hi viz mono leader in lakes with murky water.

    Longline trolling 6lb fluorocarbon in clear water.
