    Default Flat Brown Crappie?

With the heat and distancing and all of the other challenges we deal with lately, I e been going to Mosquito Lagoon pretty regular. I show up at first light and head home by 10 usually. This gives me a couple of hours of my favorite style of fishing, topwater walkin the dawg, and a little while once that quits to throw jigs and get to know my way around. Done pretty well with the Seatrout, the Reds and Snook still elude me. I see em, just haven’t put it together yet. These fish are spooky and well trained to what the sound of a trolling motor and boat slap is all about. Went this morning and found some moving water. Long story short, a couple of Trout and a Ladyfish made a show, some very big pops close by kept me interested. Put down the Spook, threw a twitch bait a while, and finally went to the jig. Threw it into the flow and let it fall, thought it was hung, but it wasn’t. Very good fight on a light rod with a 2000 series reel, it took 3 strokes to get him in the net. 20” on the yardstick and thicker than I’m used to seeing, he’d been eating good. A couple of firsts came with this. I’ve never filleted one and only cooked a couple of store bought years back. I know how to order it in a restaurant real good. Broiled with medium seasonings and butter, it was very good. And half left for tomorrow, a good thing. Hope y’all get out soon, look for me when you go. Til,then...... Skeet

It doesn't look like you didn't know what you were doing, those are some nice looking fillets. I bet they tasted great. Wish I had some right now. Good job.
