Here's a link to the shrimping activity right now... I think
most shrimping being done is with cast nets at this time of year.

Shrimp right now are smalls and mediums south of Palatka...dunns creek area..mid sept should be prime time..a week ago the kids and I threw about an hour and a half and got about a quarter bucket only a couple large at all, still early but make great bait....when the shrimp are running everything is eating them...we catch reds, rays, flounder, by Dunns creek
Stripers are running now, around welaka go south to the croaker hole
Throw out a few crab pots while at it, gettimg some good ones now too

I'll also say for shrimp it helps to bait the shrimp in.. You can use a concoction of fish meal flour and cat food, or hogfeed, or range cubes which are less messy but still bring them in

Well Downtime, Welaka should be on fire when you get here..i went Friday and Sunday south Palatka Murphy island area..did good and large size...some people reporting limits shrimping early evening at dark 2-3 hrs
We were getting mostly large with a few jumbos and mediums mixed in during day 1/2 buckets or more each time
