Ya know ...... I took the boat out the other day (saltwater). Was tooling along, decided to come off plane to light a cigarette, then tried to get back up on plane,
woops = she wouldn't get up = just plowed , I looked down at the bilge = overflowing with water, there was gallons back there, got my bud that was with me to get
manual hand operated pump out of front locker and begin pumping. I mean to tell ya, we was about 2 inches from going under in the back ........
Long story short = we survived ..... The problem was that I had turned the bait well filler on and forgot to turn it off, but that's not a big problem, when bait well gets
full it just overflows into a drain hose that empties excess out the back of the boat.

However, unbeknownst to me = the nipple on the bait well filler pump down in the bilge had broken off and the pump was just pumping water right into the boat.
Thank the good lord for stopping to light a cigarette = ya'll see, there is something good to say for smoking ! ! ! !

Never seen a fish ....Tooooo hot .... Glad to be home ......

Great story. Add a picture and it could be a home page article! Maybe others might learn from your experience and take up smoking! j/k But it would make a good home page article.

Moral to the story, we got to check our plumbing as we get older. lol glad you caught it before it got real bad. Forgetting the drain plug caused me a few anxious times. The Other Woman didn’t have much floatation.
