Default Bath water, Tunes, & Slab Sauce...

is what defied the odds this morning. Surface water temp started off at 83F & hit 87F before a storm sent me packing at 11am, but before that I was very pleased with today's speck bite for Mid-June. Caught around 30 & kept 14 for the ride home, including the fattest 13 1/2" speck I've ever caught, she weighted 1lb 14oz, if my scale is still good & bit at 10am with the surface water at 86F, as the intro to the Rolling Stone's "Can you here me Knocking" came over the ear buds, Yes, I can & come right cher' in this net, had that moment when feeling like Richard Gene, clenching my fist...WHOOO...most fish were hanging off the creek edge through the lake & bright colors worked best on this cloudy morning & Slab Sauce had them holding the bait more than long enough...tight lines ifn' you get out!......Also came across this Zebco line that changes every 2.5ft from hi-vis orange to hi-vis green, could help out vertical jiggers count down depth...

Wow- For a New York minute Jeff, I thought you were safe-distancing us! Quite the bite on J- Guess the other half was right? Interesting line color measurement...for every color group=5'(41 oranges = 200 fow)- easy peasy. Orange ya glad I figured out the math?

Doug, distancing only out of busy schedule, working nights, cortisone shot in shoulder, followed by rehab, walking daily to bust my gut, washout last weekend= no report.... as well as Friday salt visits, ect...No creek channel on J-guess, so that leaves Phantom's mystery lake & that "ridge" on the solo/photo was poor camera eye by self, is actually a shadow, should have picked up off boat floor, was very colorful with a lot of turquoise in the shoulders, like you see in the tail....

You motivated me with your report, so I went out to some old stomping grounds here on Griffin, and low and behold, I caught some. Wow, my last dozen short trips out have been one hit wonders! One fish and done. But today I pulled in 9 feesh! holy cow, they still do exist!

You had a great day Jeff! I almost went trolling this morning myself but went to beacon 42 instead. That one fish has been eating good, bet there were a good pair of fillets on her. Now that I know my way around a little, we need to go salty in my boat. Holler at me and we’ll go soon.
