Very nice, all encompassing report, Jeff Never caught a pumpkinseed in Fla(beautifully marked critter) let alone a lb.'r!! Do you troll on Port side too? = 10 rigs Use your beetlespins there?

& headed down to the Farm Pond, so the new Millennium seats could get a good test run...lone-line trolled 6 hrs & must say , 1st time in MANY yrs there was absolutely no lower back fatigue, should have done this yrs ago ....so the "chance" part was that some fish could be found this late in the season further south... surface water temp got to 80F, water was a sheet of glass (as in photo below), & got a late start launching at 9 am....well there was plenty of action, although many went back to the water under 10", best fish was 14", but hey, it was more than enough to tickle my fancy...darker colors seen the most action...forgot to take a pic of a beautiful "pumpkin seed" that was pushing a lb. caught during 1 flurry (someone please explain to Phantom "pumpkin seed" is not a Deep-State code term)...well practiced my social distancing the letter & forgot about things for a spell, yep that's the best answer that can be given to why I fish...hope it's the same for you!!!

Yes & Yes Doug, troll 10 poles, however, the 1 sticking up is my 4ft ugly stik that use to go in a rod holder attached to hand rail, but new seats are wider, thus have to find another area to mount & those 2 poles have the beetles spins (modified) w/grub paddle tails....Tim, was going to drop fish at Phantom's, but couldn't reach him by phone til to late, due to he was at son's place, have given a lot away this yr as well......& here's the best pick of that pumpkin seed out of many variations online, had a red tag on ear, orange/yellow blotches, & veins on gill plates.....

10 poles wow, most I can handle is 6...lol
Don't think I can ever go back to staring at bobbers..
I even listen to the radio with amp in aluminum boat, not loud, just enough, most say it scares the fish...I say it wakes them up, makes them look up..lol
Crappie on man..

Very nice catch Jeff, so glad to hear the new seats are working out ok for ya. I don't know where that lake is that you fished but 80 water temps are very hot for this time of the year. Ours is just getting to 59/60. Thanks for the report and keep them coming.

That’s a good lookin punkinseed. Very pretty markings. In my limited mind, if it has the red on the gill spot I call it a shellcracker. I’m sure there are many variations and now hybrids too, panfish crossbreed a lot more than I ever imagined.

Same "judge a book by its cover" mindset here too Tim Further investigation shows that the PS (aka beauty pageant winner) has less margin of red earflap, and distinctive, angled lt. blue rivulets emanating from eye. That being discovered, I have caught those non-shellcrackers, lol
Thanks Professor Jeff, thought I was too old to learn.

What ! No Pic of the seats RR
