    Default NEW GOVERNMENT ORDER

So the governor has determined that everybody will stay home for the next 30 days.
That will of coarse shut down all fishing and about everything else.
I personally feel thats a bit of an over reaction, and wont be swallowed easily by the people of FL.

I just seen on channel 6, hike, bike and swimming also includes fishing are essential activites.
My only day off is this Friday. I Will find a boat ramp before the heat sets in for the summer..
I was told this lock down is more for Orlando south, but now we all suffer I guess.
Went to get just a box of chicken at winn d, panic buying was in Full effect...No stress on the water..

This will not shut down fishing which considered a way to get food. Hence essential.

This is not an over reaction this is a highly contagious virus that is very aggressive in many people. Many hospitals don't have the resources to handle the cases that will come. There is no vaccine or cure. Social Distancing is the only way to save lives at this point. Please take it serious. Those who think it's just a cold or flu and do not head to warnings are not only endangering their lives and their families but everyone they come in contact with. This includes us first responders on the front lines witnessing the suffering, feeling helpless, all while worrying if we will carry it home. Please social distance and wash your hands.

We are taking this seriously but if one is using common sense and keeping their distancing between folks there is absolutely nothing wrong in doing what we do. IF one thinks about it in going to a bank or dock to do some fishing and not touching anything but your poles and the fish you ketch is NOT putting anyone including yourself in danger. it's the idiots who take their whole dang family to the store where they are touching produce, boxes and such who are.

even someone putting a boat in the water isn't being around anyone else or endangering anyone. Especially in FL where it has been HOT it isn't conducive to a virus staying alive in the outdoors. again those of us on this board arn't likely to do anything stupid especially if your not going into a store to buy minnows and such just bringing your box and supplies from home.

those of us with our boats on a dock can still visit with our friends while they are on the shore or their boat or dock and it's all good. Be careful out there for sure!

Fishing is still a permissible activity.

The boat ramp closures in many places are a result of people utilizing them to go hang out in large crowds on sandbars and the like.

A lot will depend on the local enforcement of the mandate. But even at that, i dont see how he can mandate that everybody stay home,
unless he also mandates tax collectors, banks, utility companies, etc etc etc to stop requiring payments be made.
You just dont tell a small self employed landscaper or contractor to stay at home for a month. Even a week is more than many of them can afford to lose, especially if they are expected to play catch up with all the bills they couldnt pay.
I think most people get it that we are faced with what appears to be a very deadly situation unless we take it very seriously.
By and large i think we are, at least to the degree we have been informed. But shutting down the world economy till the so called experts catch up isnt the answer either. Anyway just like global warming and election results, everything so far is based on expert projected models and not actuall facts.
And we all know how that usually works out.
