Default FISHING THE FRONT COMING IN

Fishing just before a front coming in has always been my favorite thing to do. i didnt get in the boat as early as i would have liked due to an appointment but by 3:30. water was really nice but overcast and the smell of rain in the air as i flew down the ab canal headed for the south side of beauclaire---my seat is i the middle of my pontoon so it is easy for me to handle 8 rods by myself. Today i went with 6 as i expected a sudden change in wind anytime--one after another nice slabs came in the boat--i was busy busy as 2 poles going off at once --can get a little dramatic. drop one after the fish is in the boat and grab the other. been doing it for years--nobody would want to be in front of the boat with me during those times i can assure u----and then here it comes the wind from the north looked like the atlantic ocean i kept catching fish----finally i let the wind take me along with the trolling motor just before dark into Carlton which is calm out of the wind. turned on my green leds, hit the weedline on the north side and here come the fish----finally about 7:30 when a little sprinkle came i decided i had had all the fun i could take for one day. turned on the navigation lights stowed away everything as i knew when i crossed over Beauclaire to go home it was going to be rough rough--but one thing about that pontoon--it sits deep in the water and it will ride smooth across most everything--white caps hitting the toons radio blaring--- across i went and down the canal pulling into the dock---thinking HOW PERFECT WAS THIS--? Now Jack has the fun--Cleaning all them!!

Sounds like a really good outing for ya CG1.... read your other post about filets, try soaking them overnight will a little table salt in the water, will confirm if the hair like substance is blood veins are not, salt water solution will eliminate all blood in filets...

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Thanks, you know last year was really hard to get to the boat very often, thats why i think i am appreciating every minute spent on the water more than ever this year--sometimes we take for granted those times out there when we live on the water but to sit in the house not feeling well for extended length of time really makes you appeciate more.
