Lake Talquin, at one time, was the best Crappie Lake in the Southeast. It was a treasure! My first time down there was in 1974 and went down almost every year since. It is a treasure no more. It is still a good lake for quality Crappie in Florida but average at best. My last trip was two weeks ago.

Alabama River is more than likely the best, Clark Hill is good, Oconee is good, and Santee Cooper is coming back. I love Lochloosa but the size of Specs are smaller. This is my last year fishing out of state. I have had a good run but it is time to slow down.

Never fished Mississippi but I hear they are some of the best.

Anywhere but we fished around Pine Barren Creek, Miller's Ferry, and the River near Selma. My wife is from Alabama and we fished it many times. Her Mom lived in Lanett Al so we also fished West Point. Veasey Creek on West Point always had the best Crappie.
