The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Very nice event at a very convenient and clean State park even walkable from Slab's hacienda. Good to see the no see'ems and missed seeing the no show'ems. Great eats, sweets and drinks aplenty. Even with the forecasted rain event(50%), there were plenty boats working a 400 yard 4-9 foot depth. My large speck tipped the needle @1 lb 7.4 oz. (13.75") and my big 5 of 19 weighed 5 lb.4 oz(15 oz average for remaining 4). Long-lining 1/16 oz. heads @ vary lengths had twisters of various colors with Parrot, Monkey milk, Acid rain taking preference. Although rain never showed, the wind blew more than forecasted starting about 10:30. Lake Griffin has shown me in 3 recent trips, that it has a respectable 3/4 - 1 lb. average fish and well worth your time. Almost forgot>about 8:30 I had a "knock at my lure" that almost removed my 5' rod/reel from it's sentry point. First expecting Gar>Catfish as
the culprit was pleasantly rewarded with a net under a healthy 4 1/2 lb largemouth!! Luckily, minutes later, after a quick Q&A with the field judge, Slab informed me that big fish honors were ONLY Crappie!! About an hour later, after showing Mr. Green to Slab and Billbob, while changing out the cooler livewell water with a small bucket, the unforeseen happened. An Olympic high jump scored all 10's as my l/m showed me his skills by using the GUNNEL side of cooler to do his HOUDINI!! Oh well, slab already hit the gavel earlier, rofl..Griffin event picsto those who chose not to attend, you missed a grand get together with Slab's mutti(mom) taking honors for her potato salad. Thanks for lookin' in on me-

Great to see everyone again. Had a good time talking to up2, Skeetbum, Billbob, Shu, Slab, Cg1, and all the rest. Food was really good, but the company was the highlight of the day. Didn't get to fish , but I will have plenty of time to try it again. I have to give the credit for the conehead pic to Skeetbum, that was his idea, but it was so funny. I am looking forward to the next time when we can all get together again. Thank everyone for a great time.
