I live on a canal on Lake Eustis in the Grand Island/Leesburg area.
Hi, my name is Rob Little. I'm a stand up comedian that has traveled all over the world and have finally settled down in Leesburg on Lake Eustis on a canal because I love to fish on my downtime. I found your thread here and I would love to find a way to get our canal dredged so that we don't have to worry about it drying up in the summer. Some folks told me they got their's dredged a couple canals down from us and it's now 7 feet. We're lucky if ours is 2-3 feet.
Any help you can offer I would greatly appreciate.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Thanks,
Rob

I want to add that this did pass. In addition there are vehicles to possibly provide funding through various goverment agencys and the term of repay would possibly be longer. i intend to now move forward to try to get total funding for the harris chain canal dredging project from grants and possibly part of a tourism tax that is already in place. We need to start with the worst canals with muck in them and move forward until all canals are cleaned back to their natural sand bottom in almost all cases, We need to get our Crappie and Bass fishing back.We need to be the #1 lakes in FLORIDA TO FISH AGAIN. We need to start somewhere. Any members that live on canals or even waterfront on the Harris Chain of Lakes, please let me know who you are. In addition we need a Harris Chain membership drive by the folks that live in lake county . My feet are old and tired. Everyone could help me if they would just sign more harris chain members. We are also working heavily with FWC to improve our fishing and there will be meetings coming up that will be announced. I also do need the very very active fisherman for a fishermans committee from all lakes.
Daryl Cole and Ed Moes HAVE VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME. PLEASE LET US HEAR FROM YOU.
