Default New Member Advice For Dora Chain

Hi everyone, I recently bought a boat so I could take my son fishing. We typically put in at Lake Beauclair and this will be my first time out looking for some slabs. Been reading up on some great techniques here on the site. Anyone had any luck on the Dora Chain recently? I read trolling Lake Carlton might be good as well as drifting the deep spots in Lake Eustis. Anywhere else that might produce a few rod benders for me and my boy?

I live on Griffin. I longline, but most here Spider Rig. Generally speaking, I longline the edges of the weed beds, hitting them often. If you ain't going through some weeds, you ain't catching fish. At least that the case here. But lately, the cold kinda shut them down. I'm sure someone will chime in on your part of the chain soon. Good luck.

i m on the chain--the Harris chain which has lake dora lake beauclaire lake carlton lake eustis lake griffin and big and little harris and lake apopka (do not go to lake). i live just off lake beauclaire on the apopka beauclaire canal. 1st turn to the right but dont come in here right now until we are dredged out. i have been out a couple times but not much gong on. on the other hand lake harris has been dong ok as usually it does way before we get good bites on this side. slab says hes catching a few in griffin. depending on the fronts we will start soon but not too extreme until feb march. i marked good fish in 10 ft of water in carlton the other day they just dont want to bite. so one day dora will start in and we all be there then a week later carlton--its those darn unpredictable fish. i will be in an OLD OLD SUNTRACKER WITH TONS OF EQUIPMENT ON IT!! CRAPPIE.COM ON THE WINDSHIELD. SAY HELLO!

Thanks Slab and Crappiegirl1 for the responses. I put in at Trimble so probably not making it to Harris. I'll let you know if I get any in Carlton or Dora this weekend
