That is ridiculous!! I'm not the least bit surprised.
I caught someone throwing construction debris in the canal. So trying to do the right thing, I called the FWC dispatch number to report it. I was quickly told that because I mentioned that it could have possibly damaged my motor had I not caught it that it was a civil matter not criminal. That tells me that it's not illegal to dump into the lakes and canals.

Didn't enjoy at all having to get in the water to get it pulled out of the canal.

I can’t post my thoughts. Good job on the cleanup though.

Wow, that was in the canal. Dang. Good job cleaning it out though. Sad they wouldn't do anything, but I'm sure they are not gonna be able to find who did it at this point.
RobAnderson thanked you for this post
My grandmother and I know exactly who did it and have the proof, but as usual for FWC they can't be bothered with issues on Rosalie with Kissimmee right next to us. We have a boat half submerged in a canal that has been reported by several people in the last 4 months and they say they are trying to find the owner, meanwhile all the contaminates are seeping into the water.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Water temperature was 78. I am glad that I didn't have to do it now with the cool temps here

In my experience fwc only care about the easy tickets, if it involves any extra paperwork they are quick to say "ohh well that's not my jurisdiction..."
