    Default $100 fish.

How cool it that, I caught a $100 fish. Most I've ever earned off a fish, ever!

I caught a Bass, while crappie fishing. It had that tag on it. I called up, and they're sending me $100, yay. I spoke with the biologist for a while and found out the bass was tagged last November, and was released at the Northern end of the lake. I caught it at the Southern end by Griffin Lake state park. Traveled a long way, but it did have almost a year to get there. The biologist said it was 14.25 inches long when released. Regretfully I did not measure it. I simply released it. Dang, I did not even take a pic. And that's not me, I take pics of everything. Oh well. The crazy thing is, I woulda guessed the bass was only about 13 inches long. That's way different than 14.25, and perhaps I was that much off. But still, the fish did not grow much if any, in just about a whole year. Kinda shows you the fishery here still does not have a good baitfish population. That bass traveled that far for a bite, just to barely sustain himself! Poor fishy. doh

    Good Job, Boss !!

I've caught tagged Crappie before (Weiss Lake, Ala) but wasn't registered in the "rodeo" (which was over when I caught them). Had a guide friend check them against the winning numbers, and all he would say is "You don't want to know". Never did find out how much they would have been worth.

I've caught tagged Rainbow Trout at a local park lake, but never won any of the $$ prizes, just got pewter pins for turning in the tags.

The only time I've won $100 was on a lottery ticket that I bought at the store where we were staying in the room above, down at Barkley Lake .... MANY, MANY moons ago.

But, anyway .... congrats on the win !! Just don't start into Bass fishing for more tagged fish

Cool deal! The only tags I’ve ever seen are in pictures or someone else’s hands.

I've caught a couple red fish in south Louisiana with tags that were not legible. Does this mean you are a "professional" ?
