They are spawning in the grass and bull rush now in lake O. Find some vegetation in water 1.5 to 4 ft deep and get your jig in the small holes and pockets and be ready for the thump

Ive been down there twice within the last couple of weeks but not to fish.
I stopped at Fast Break Tackle Shop both times and both times i inquired about the Crappie fishing.
Nothing has started in the reeds and grass as yet according to them.
Some guys are drifting and trolling the deeper water but no great numbers are being caught.
If they don’t know I don’t know who would.

I find it a little odd if they are spawning in the big O as the Kissimmee chain they are getting ready to as their fins have all been extremely red the last few weeks. But I have yet to find a single one with eggs.

The lake has been red hot this week! Limits are being caught all around the lake on jigs and minnows. I've been doing very well from Tin House Cove all the way to Nubbins Slough. During the day I jig fish out in the lake..I fish 2 poles with 1 jig one each dipping them along the reeds or in the pockets in the vegetation. If you want to minnow fish I'd go in the river and anchor up toward the mouth of the river over the drop off and tight line minnows...either of these methods will fill your freezer
