Several things came together for today’s trip to happen. Up2Specks made the drive, monsoons had to hold off long enough, and I had to have my ducks in a row. I’ve been on vacation this week and I need to go to work for a break. Anyway, it all worked so just after first light we headed under the bridge to see what Monroe had to offer. I like this fishing during the week thing, we had the lake to ourselves. Scooted up to my old haunts on the north end and spent the day there for the most part. Company and snacks were good, the weather held off and the fish cooperated some. We didn’t knock em cold but the first fish was a sneeze over 13, and we never found any of his relations that size. Caught about 25 and had 11 keepers that were chunky in true Monroe fashion. Around 10, maybe 10:er30, the wind turned from the east and the bite slowly got smaller and then just gave up. We stuck it out for a little while and the clouds over Sanford got a little more ominous and we wrapped up and moved on. Searched out a landmark(watermark?) that we had heard about, hit the waypoint, and now those clouds were on the lake and dropping rain. Time to go. It almost caught us but we were making tracks pretty good and got her on the trailer before it got serious. I meant to get some pics while we were out but I just went braindead when I got on the water and got none. Doug took the one below and took the fish home to make good use of them.
The reason for the name of the post is that this was the last trip that will be made in The Other Woman. I’ve bought a Carolina Skiff that will allow me to go salty and I’ll be down inside the boat more. I have a couple of transfers to be made from one to the other and she will be for sale. A while after this storm blows through is all I have for a date right now. The next pictures will be in Another Woman, and what I hope to be another long relationship will begin. Thanks for visiting with Doug and I today, it was fun even if the fish weren’t jumping in the boat. Hope to see you out there the next time I go, until then....... Skeet

Yes sir Bumble Bee Boss...now I really now the feel of a skipping stone! Mario Andretti would have wet his pants! Made it back to the ramp with the final clicks of the winch initiating the rain song. Great acquisition for someone looking for a well-kept/maintained rig. Nice day to take one's mind off the impending, life-altering conditions the State will be enduring real soon! Thanks for the trip Tim...really like those shouldered Monroe specks. Thankfully, only one small Gar to contend with.

Great report and pics. Thanks for sharing. I'ma thinking you're gonna miss your race boat, maybe just a bit. But the new one will be fun too. Good luck riding Dorian out.
