Default Canal Fishing for Peacocks with Shiners

    Hi guys,

Spent a few hours this afternoon with a dozen shiners fishing a canal near Fort Lauderdale. Pretty solid action. Ended up with a couple of peacocks and some other fish mixed in. As always though, there's the one that got away. Hope you enjoy the video.

Thanks. I certainly enjoyed it. Would've liked some more fish, but 5 fish on a dozen shiners isn't too bad.

Nice video I still yet have had the chance to hook a Peacock
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

That was my bucket list fish for a while growing up in NJ. I moved down to South Florida 3 years ago and it has quickly become my new favorite fish to specifically target. Thanks for watching.

How long was the rod and lb test? Edible? That was fun to watch. New bucket list for me now. Also, welcome to C.c.

6 foot medium action rod with 10 pound test. Yes the peacocks are edible. Apparently pretty good, but I just haven't eaten one yet. They're an awesome fish for sure. Especially the bigger ones.
