    Default Talquin in Summer??

So I just moved up here to the lake a couple months ago. If any of you guys care to give some advice to a newbie I'd appreciate it.

So far I have tried throwing jigs around/under (not super great at skipping) dock pilings, and also slow trolling pulling 6 lines at different depths off the sides of my jon boat.

Trolling I kept getting hung up and breaking off my road runner jigs, think I need to just stay higher in the water column, or pay closer attention to keeping a little further away from the edges of the channel.

I have a fish finder (Hook 5) that has been sitting around, hoping to get it rigged to the bottom of my trolling motor today or tomorrow to help me stay on the edges of the river channel.

So what is the deal with these guys in the summer? So far they are doing a dang good job of out-smarting me....

    Thanks,
    LowHydrogen

First thing ya need to do is go up to member sponsor clasdifieds and ding litewirehookers posts and order you a bunch of his jigheads or go to Talquin lodge and pick em up. Them hooks will bend out and not keep breaking off.

Any particular size and weight I should be looking at? Or color you would recommend?

Call litewirehooker and ask his advice. He has many hours logged on that lake a good reputation for catching em. He is a great guy too.

Welcome to the area. Talquin is my favorite lake to fish. Once you get familiar with the "lumber yard" you will love it. Hope to see you out there this fall.

If you get a chance to ride along with Hooker, jump in at all cost.
