    Default Krappie Kaypable has been

on my to do list for quite some time. Four years ago, I was afforded the opportunity to enjoy yet another facet of my fishing diversity. I was gifted a kayak by my brother in North country who couldn't enjoy the fun but rigorous efforts of kayaking. After a few salt outings, I knew it had a great freshwater venue that needed to be addressed. After numerous modifications/upgrades, I at last had the excited maiden voyage launch to try our Crappie obsession. Pontoon Pappy offered to be the Captain of the Mother ship for me to try multi-rod longlining.Name: 20190723_083828.jpg

Electric motor, depth finder, trolling racks etc. all employed to hopefully make this an enjoyable day after many hours of DIY modifications. The yak boarding was made easy by the shallow shoreline PP afforded me. Although kayaking for a basic newbie(geyser) is somewhat challenging, multi-rod(8) l/l yakking is the ultimate in staying on top of things.Name: 20190722_083953.jpg

Fishing was hot water, artificial-only stingy for both of us with only 14 fish boated with my biggest of 13" with also 1 large Gar encountered by each of us. Both my agm 10 amp hr. battery(depthfinder) and my standard deep cycle 12 volt battery appeared unfazed after 7 hours of use! Also, refused the Mother Ship towback, and easily made it back to the ramp @3-4 mph. Overall, looking for more motored kayak time both salt/fresh. Needing to now annually register the motorized yak is only a slight ding compared to its comfort/tranquility. Actually the 12.5 footer fits comfortable secured in my Ford Explorer with only 30" overhang.

I have the desire but just can’t quite pull the trigger. Agility is my issue, and mine ain’t what it used to be. Glad you found some and things went smooth. Looks like you had a good time.

Mike- Nothing except maybe $$ is welcomed by all...for me yakking is, if respected with bell/whistle modifications, is the bomb! Especially Salty where shallow stealth is $$$.Krappie Kaypable has been Krappie Kaypable has been

Tim- A man(guber) has to know his limitations in life, it seems you have the right mindset. Unfortunately, the color may prove to be bird dog bummerKrappie Kaypable has been

Eight rods out of a yak! Wow, you got talent. Great job, and great setup too. My yaking days are over. My bad back can't take that long in the same position. When they make a yak I can get up and walk around a bit, and sit like at the kitchen table, I'll be back in business. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I have a friend in TN that has a nucanoe that he doesn’t really use much anymore that I had plans of trying when I went up end of next month, but the trip has been postponed for a bit. Supposed to be a great rig. Check out YouTube for some demo videos, cool stuff. One like you have on Craigslist over here Doug, darker green.

Yeppir, You Tube is a treasure trove for everything...I got a lot of hours logged on kayak mods. Plus, you can add your own spin on stuff. I'm still tweekin' stuff. Even got removable pontoons I haven't mounted yet. I'll try and swing up that way soon, maybe you can sample the good life.
