Default Astor area october via housrboat

Folks, my wife and I I'm going to rent a houseboat to spend a week fishing the river between Lake Monroe and Lake George the first part of October. I've never been on that part of the river. Starting to plan my trip, and would appreciate any recommendations or intel.

Not really looking for fishing spots at this point, but looking for information on where Fish Camps are and fuel locations along the river? Any special areas we should see? General into please.

    Thanks,

    UncleJ

Well October should have some pretty active fish on Monroe. Marinas with fuel in that stretch should be no issue. Marina just north of Monroe has fuel, Highbanks has fuel, Hontoon island has fuel, marinas at both 44 and 40 bridges have fuel. Fish camps are for most part around Astor and Hontoon island.

I do not. I am sure one of the baitshops in Astor will have them though.

Don’t know if Powell’s is up and running but they were right where dexter meets the river near Astor. Have a good trip.

Anglers Riverside Retreat in Astor will have crickets and any other bait. You can tie up on there dock and walk in. Dexter is 2 or 3 miles south of there.
