    Default Lake Talquin trip


    I am considering making a trip to Lake Talquin in late fall this year and would like to know what would be the best time to come fir some crappie and shiner fishing,I would be considering late October or early November any advice

    I'm certainly no expert on Talquin, but I would think November would be better than Oct. for Crappie. Hopefully others will chime in. And hope you have a great trip.

    Yeah, generally speaking, in Florida I'd say the cooler the better going in to Fall.

    One more question,when I come fish Lake Talquin I usually launch at Coes Landing and fish the "Ocholocknee flats"which is what it's called on my map should I fish there and fairly shallow or maybe try a little deeper,I will be mostly single poling hitting stumps and standing timber but will be bringing my spider rings also.

    Longlining is the preferred method at Lake Talquin.......by far

    Lake Talquin made Litewirehooks a household name for many years. November the fish normally in open water from Harvey mill to dam......ALL the boats will be long lining.
