Big motor single pole jigging?

Watched a YouTube vid by Whitey Outlaw running his outboard and single pole fishing. Anyone else doing this?

I’ve done the single pole, pull up on top of the pile fishing. Haven’t seen the video so I have to plead dumb, don’t know if I have or not. I’ll almost bet that he has a nice quiet 4 stroke. My 30 year old two stroke is probably considerably noisier than one of those. Fishing straight down in heavy cover isn’t for everyone but I’ve had some really good days with it.

There are many accomplished, money-winning fisherman that do things that seem unconventional to others. I personally believe in the stealth factor when asking fish to take the chilly ride home. Unless I'm having motor starting issues, single pole fishing is done on the quiet. It does bring to mind however, a friend and C.com member, that has good success while big motor back-trolling. Again, atypically, and w/o the aid of any depth-finder/electric motor, trolls 12 - 13 rods off the back(front) of his large pontoon with success! If I remember the video correctly, Whitey is sort of sticking and jabbing in a pad/weed scenario, that enables him to "cover some ground". A normal electric motor would be prone to the prop-foul factor and decrease lure presentation time. Hey UncleJ- when we gonna see some rod/reel caught pics...fresh/salt doesn't matter?

u2s, leaving my Dory "Paula B" on the trailer for the weekend ,leaving local waters to the tourist and pleasure boaters for the extended 4th holidays. May very well walk the beach tomorrow a.m. looking for a fat Whiting taco or two..want to put a bend in my new b&m jig pole for the fun of it. If so ill post pix.

Lots of trees, stumps, hyacinth matts on the river. Make ya up a milk run and hit each one real quick and move on when no bites. Productive way to fish and has worked long before trolling motors were around. Get pretty tiresome sculling a long stretch on a bank. He has several videos of him doing it, even 1 on Okeechobee on kissimmee grass clumps in very shallow water. Long as you dont wash the cover with propwash should be no problem.
