What do you do if you have a few minutes and the crappie ain't biting on your home lake. Gotta go visit mom in the hospital shortly, she has a blood clot in her leg. But I had an hour I could go out and clear my head, so I decided to Bass fish. Yeah I know, crappie.com and all, but I needed to feel a tug on my line bad, and I didn't have time for a lengthy search for them! Being on Griffin don't make it easy.

Anyway, I decided to try the new PICO Square Bills, which run shallow. I cast over submerged weeds and quickly got my fix. Yay me. These PICO's have a great wiggle and you can reel them in pretty slow to get that reaction bite. Got my fix, now off to see mom.

Living on that lake I’d have a hard time not harassing those guys for sure. Pico pop early in the morning just as the sun comes up will get you going for the day.

Wishing and praying for Mom, hope she straightens up soon.

Good lookin greenfish. Like to get him on my tiny gear. It doesn’t take me very many of any size or kind of fish for a lot of my baggage to fall away. Some friends used to think me goofy for chasing gills when there was a hatch going on and it was a fish on near every cast. What do they know.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Praying for your mom, Slab. Nothing like being on the water in the middle of nature to unwind one's thoughts.

Hope they can get that clot cleared up quickly. Scary things they are. They put her on the heparin IV?
