This is more poor management of the Stick Marsh/Farm 13 habitat. Destroying erosion-preventing rooted vegetation along the west shoreline. It's already rocked, so the rooted growth just helps when the hurricanes hit. Serves no purpose at all, except to spend money to retain budget. What a waste and sign of management stupidity. By the way, the new area, east of the Stick Marsh, is still not open to anything but kayaks. But, guess what? The St Johns Water Management District is ALREADY spraying its vegetation. There is no boat traffice and no water flow to be impeaded by vegetation, so why spray? If they try hard, they'll soon kill the place just like the did the Farm 13/Stick Marsh (which was, at one time, the BEST in the World).
