July 3rd - This PICO Bunny Butt with the dark head always has done well. I kinda think the fish think it's a grass shrimp. Don't forget the Slabsauce, these hold it very well.

Who said you can't catch fish in Florida in the summer time. I long lined just outside of monster weed beds constantly hitting tops of weeds. I used Slab Rigs (with Road Runners) and double rigs with PICO Bunny Butts. Always dipping the Slabsauce as well. Trolling at 1.2 MPH in 6-7 ft of water.

Some days we did great, catching 15 or more fish in 2 hours. Other days only 3 or 4. But the bad days were very few and I would always catch some. I would always only fish the first hour or two, first thing in the morning, and that's it. That's how I manage to beat the heat.

We found fish on Harris on same pattern when we were there 4th of July weekend. And yep, off the water early and into pool at campground.

I'm still new to crappie fishing, but lately I have only caught 1 or 2 small ones every time I go out. I long line most of the time. Been catching some big cats though long lining!
