    I have a 12' Grumman with a 6 horse Evinrude and a 40# Minn Kota on a nice trailer, all in excellent condition id sell for under a thousand.
    I haven't advertised it yet, but im about to on Craigs List.
    I just don't need 3 boats. lol

    I wondered if it still had the sticker on it where it came over on the mayflower. LOL I had one in the early 80’s but mine was an 18hp. Almost needed two hands to pull it over. What a powerhouse it was. Nice rig, good luck with it.

    I bought a new 1957 Johnson 35 horse electric start, which was then their largest motor. It was the same as for appearance as this one, but a deep red/maroon color with white accent trim.
    I traded a 54 Merc Mark 55 40 horse manual start in on it which was at the time their largest.
    The Merc was faster, but much noisier, especially since the cowling was off so much. lol
    Most runabout boats were molded plywood with mahogany transoms. Fiberglass boats were just starting to show up by the mid 50s.
    Brand names like MFG and Lyman were the most popular where I was from. Mostly they were of the lap strake hull design.

    Phantom 309, don't give up my friend. There are more than 1 ways to get out fishing. I am in central Florida and would be honored to take you out on the pontoon fishing and learn some new tricks. Anyone in central Florida selling a boat?
