    Default Big bobber= Big fish

Now entering the saltwater arena - Radio transmitter #117510Attachment 339067 Florida has a Manatee tagging program that documents the travel of these large, protected, docile creatures. Further info. can be accessed on FWC report a tagged manatee hotline. This is only the 2nd one I have encountered, ironically both have been this year. Manatees are mammals that require them to occasionally breathe air and are often compared to pasture-grazing, non-aggressive bovines. This association has earned them the nickname of "Sea cow". Thought I'd mention this due to the majority of our members being incapable of seeing/knowing about these creatures.
Yesterday, just prior to this encounter, I was gifted with two impressive speckled trout for the saltwater ice-slurry cooler ride home = 5 hours of fruitless trout chuckin' & truckin'. One in particular had a particular size/demeanor profile. See pic of big 21.5" girl. Her lady friend @19.75" also made honorable mention and a muscle relaxing "chill down". Enjoy-

Thanks for sharing your day, Doug. Nice catch!

Gotta love those manatee's. About 3 years ago we visited the Manatee Viewing and educational Center at Tampa Electric, enjoyed it thoroughly.
What time is it?? IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!!

When I moved to Florida full time it was to the middle keys where I lived for 10 years.
Manatee sightings in that area were rare, and only in the winter when I suppose cooler water further north sent more of them that way. Moving to Vero beach and having access to the IR lagoon system however is quite different. One thing I don't miss about fishing salt water in this area is the Manatees, and the restrictions placed on boating as a result of them.
The law tends to hang out in certain areas like cops waiting behind billboards out on the edge of town.

Great pics Doug, always enjoy your adventures.

I'm gonna try to make a run over near Crystal River during our Dunnellon vacation this year, we'll
see if I can make it happen & the weather cooperates.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
