CG1- Glad to see you're now on the outside lookin' in(hosp) and on your way to non-issue health in the future. Maybe a little more info. on your steering issue could be helpful in diagnosis from members. I know that your toon has had an upgrade 90 hp added, correct? Medical needs have been on your to do list and maybe have limited or eliminated your testing it, correct? Is your steering standard(probably) or hydraulic(typically on high-performance/speed rigs)? Do you encounter any abnormal feel to steering before reaching the midway tilt position(eg.- when your motor is tilted out of the water, is it 0 issue?) Then, as you lower it in stages, motor off of course, there is 0 issue until you reach midway down? Now, how about directionally? With motor off and up, turn wheel all the way to left testing your steering again in stages to your "bind point". After doing the left direction trial, then maybe try coming from right in same fashion, comprende? Also, was any modification done to your steering cable for it to connect to new motor? Sorry for the interrogation but I'm far from an expert just trying to lend info. to members that are more capable. Have you contacted the dealer/mechanic who installed motor? Good luck CG1, both you and the motor will be issue free shortly.

Sounds like something is binding up your cable at the motor. From remote control with out being able to put hands on I’d say take it back to who installed your motor. Cable mounting bracket to motor could be wrong or cable could be to short. What ever it is is dangerous.

Ive had it happen where the housing that your steering rod goes in and out of corrodes on the inside, it will eventually thicken the grease to where the rod will not move easily. I would take the steering rod out of the motor and running sand paper on a dowel in the tube to clean out the rust and old grease. I recommend using a torch to heat up the old grease when u clean it to speed up the process cause it is involved
