    Default Anyone fish Lake Rousseau before for crappie?


    Just asking before I drag my boat down to Florida to see weather any crappie fishing near that area? Be coming down from Tennessee so it's gotta be worth the ride,,,,thanks

    Lots of good saltwater fishing in that area, I'd skip the fresh and hit the salt if you're coming from up north somewhere

    Never been there, talked to Harold and he has not either. But looking at map I bet it does. Might be a bit finicky pending time of year. About an hour or so east of there around Gainesville is Orange Lake, Lochloosa and Newman's that are great holes.

    We go every year for an annual vacation spot, I have never done well on the specks but it is summer June/July when we go - hot, hot, hot.

    I usually go to the springs to swim and catch small fish from the dock/boat.

    Most locals say they catch fish but have also said that the past few years of hurricanes have ruined the area at this time.
